In the training room we decided that the horizontal bands of windows would not only add natural lighting to the space but also help distinguish the public and private spaces in the building. We offset the wall and added lighting to the wall as well, which corresponded to our concept for our logo and to the immigrants coming to cnnc.

In the conference we used horizontal bands of glass to distinguish the separation of the private and public spaces. It brings natural light into the space as well as breaks up the wall into different planes. The planes all come together to create one solid wall, as the immigrants are coming together to become Americans when the come to cnnc. The yellow on the wall was inspired by springtime and a new beginning, once again relating back to the imigrants.

In the private office we dropped down a ceiling plane to make the space feel more comforting. Although the ceiling has been dropped you can still see up into the rafters which still keeps the room open. We decided to use a u-shaped desk in the private offices, oriented with the open part of the u towards the guest chairs in the space so that the interaction between the employee and the immigrants can be more personal.
