Appealing Transition

The use of multiple materials creates appeal and openness that allows for easy transition through out the space. Within the structure, two different stains were applied to the wood. This emphasis on the wood leads your eye and shows the relationship between the floor and the ceiling. Your eye is lead to the ceiling not only by the differences in the stain of wood but also by the slanted wood that creates a roof-like structure.
A large amount of images throughout the space creates an element of appeal. The images grab the viewer’s attention; with the presence of text containing information next to the images it also leads your eye from one poster to another. Projectors throughout also allow for the presence of technology and are appealing to the eye with a slideshow of information. This makes its possible for information to be delivered to the viewer in a different form. Along with the projectors, there was also a computer set to the side, it seemed to me. I was not pulled towards the computer; it was out of place and could have been incorporated into the structure more. In my opinion this was the least successful of all the elements of the exhibit.
The structure related very well to the space that it is installed in. It creates a contrast in materials with the wood and metal of the structure and the sheet rock and concrete of the space. Also taking advantage of the glass wall by bringing the structure out of the gallery brings a transition from the exterior of the exhibit to the interior.

The poster with images allows the designer to utilize the interior wall of the space. The images draw the viewers attention which transitions them throughout the space in a different direction.

With the use of metal pipes it allows for a transparent structure. This creates easy transition throughout the space and a feeling of openness.

The transition of stain colors connects the bottom of the structure to the top.
